Trevor eating breakfast before his Big Day!
Today was Trevor's Big Day. It was his first day of Middle School! This morning, it wasn't very hard to wake him up. I think that he must have slept pretty light last night. When Todd went in to wake him this morning around 7:00, he popped right up and got in the shower. He took his usual 30 min shower and came downstairs for his usual bagel breakfast. He was ready to go. You could tell by his face that he was excited.
He caught the bus around 7:45 and didn't get off the bus until 5:20 this afternoon. It was such a long day for him. His bus is suppose to drop him off at 4:45, but they are always running late the first week or two of school until they get the route down correctly. When he got home, he was starving. He headed straight for the pantry and told me that he had to get something to eat before he could give me the run down of his day. Once he got some Oreo's and Chips Ahoy in him, he was ready to talk. He told me about his teachers and his classes, who he ate lunch with, who was on his bus, etc. Getting information out of Trevor is like making the dog talk. It's almost impossible. If you've ever tried to talk to him, then you know what I mean (this is another way that he is just like Todd!). He will answer your questions with a word (or two, if your lucky) and leave it at that. You have to poke and prod him to get the details, and then you usually don't get it all! Anyway, it turns out that he had a great day and that he is very excited about going to middle school.
Todd got home shortly after Trevor and we decided to hit the lake this evening and let the boys get some wakeboarding in. We headed to the lake and stayed for a couple of hours. On the way home, we stopped and got "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" take-out. We ate dinner when we got home and everyone took their bath/shower and hit the sack. They kids all passed out as soon as they laid down.
ps: I wanted to take a picture of Trevor at the bus stop this morning, but that wasn't an option. He would have been too embarressed, so I had to settle for the breakfast shot instead!
